Unintentional and Unconscious Analogies between Superficially Dissimilar but Relationally Similar Simple Structures

This research addresses empirically the issue of the possibility for making unconscious analogies. It demonstrates unconscious and unintentional analogies between structurally similar but superficially dissimilar word pairs. Experiment 1 demonstrated spontaneous unconscious analogical transfer between analogous word pairs. Experiment 2 ruled out the potential semantic priming explanation for the findings reported in the first experiment.
